  • The Gift of Reading

    Funded Dec 28, 2019

Words can not express how grateful my students and I are for all your donations. Reading is a huge part of my life professionally and personally. My students are eager to start reading these new books for the new year. Seeing them become immersed in reading has brought so much joy to me as well as themselves. Books are their getaway from issues they face on a daily basis. Thank you for allowing my students to continue their journey through the use of Literature.

Reading has allowed my students to become more engaged within the classroom now that they have books they are interested in to read. They were so excited to open the boxes of new books. The looks on their face as they read the back of the books to decide which one they would read for the week was like no other. I was so hard for them to choose because they wanted to read them all at once.

Thank you again for this amazing gift. ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Foster

  • Give the Gift of Reading to Underprivileged Students.

    Funded Dec 16, 2018

I can not begin to express what these books mean for my students. I became a teacher to give back to my community and make a difference in the lives of children who grew up like I did. These books are just the beginning of a life long educational journey for my students and I. Reading is many of my students escapes from the real world problems they face on a daily basis. I wish I was able to do more as an educator for them, however, this is only the tipping point for my students and I. The gift you just bestowed upon my students is one I can not thank you enough for.

My students are excited to dive into their new books. They are looking forward to new books that they have not read yet. Thank you again and a million more times to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Foster

Books are needed to enrich the lives of my students who are growing up in the same impoverished neighborhood I did as a child. I teach at the elementary school I graduated at as a child. My students are so full of life and look forward to every lesson they are given no matter their circumstances. These are children who witness the harshest realities, death, hunger, homelessness. They are bright, smart and caring children who deserve an amazing education with amazing books that allow their minds to go wild with instead of allowing the streets to steal another child's life.
