The iPAD will allow for students to listen to the English language. This will provide students more independence in learning the language. They can hear how letters and words sound by listening to books.

All Voices Matter
Funded Dec 19, 2018Technology is a huge part of our fast-paced society. As adults, we rely on iphones, tablets, and computers to complete everyday tasks. Many believe technology in the classroom is a replacement for "real instruction"; however, when used effectively, it can enhance learning in a plethora of ways. In my classroom, the iPads have allowed for translation services, beginning reading instruction through audio-books, engaging learning tasks, and so much more. The iPad is not a replacement of daily teacher instruction, but, a tool for students to gain independence.
For our latest project, students published their very own books using an application called Book Creator on the iPads. Writers typed, illustrated, and recorded digital books to show off their latest piece. My students were so proud of their hard work and now have access to this book forever.
The iPads have been particularly influential to all of my English as a New Language students. Students now have access to their home-language in the click of a button. This provides them with the opportunity to be more independent and effective problem solvers. It has changed their outlook on school, and I can see it in their warm smiles each and every day!
Thank you so much for making a HUGE difference in the lives of my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Nicole
