• 205's Comfy, Cozy Casita

  Thank you for donating to our project. The children have been utilizing the different materials on a daily basis. The cube chairs and table tops have served as environmental accommodations during meeting time and also used in our dramatic play area as seating arrangements for our pizza restaurant. The new light shade gives our classroom a cozy touch and the autumn tree light covers gave our classroom a beautiful warm glow and added a touch of nature! The children also enjoyed building a Dias de los Muertos alter using the materials your donation provided!”

• Sensory Play: A Preschool Classroom Essential!

  The children were so excited to receive their new sensory table in the mail! Our classroom was able to use it for about 3 weeks before it cracked! We were fortunate enough to have a sensory table donated to us from another classroom in our school. Donor's Choose was kind enough to give us credit for the broken table. With those funds, we were able to purchase a plethora of sensory materials, books, and games! The children have been busy strengthening their fine motor muscles, reading books, and exploring with new sensory materials, thanks to your generous donations!”

  Thank you for supplying room 205 with Legos and Lego figurines. The children have been busy creating with these resources. The kids especially love building with Legos at choice time. They are able to use their imagination and build upon their fine motor skills at the same time!

• Exploration Area Upgrade!

  Thank you for your generosity. My team and I appreciate you supporting Early Childhood Education and Chicago Public Schools. The children have loved the new addition to our exploration area—the projector! We are currently creating a city in that area that reflects the likes and daily lives of our classroom. We've used the projector to showcase our beautiful Chicago skyline and Lakeshore drive! We can't wait to continue using this wonderful resource throughout the year! Next week, we will introduce the students to our new marble run and messy tray that you helped fund!”

• Light and Sensory Fun!

  Thank you so much for helping Room 205 purchase a light laboratory! The light table is a popular area for the kids to play at during choice time. Every two weeks we put new items on the light table for the children to explore. Anything magnetic and/or transparent is the most popular. The children also love building and writing on top of the light table. It is also a popular place to do a puzzle during morning arrival. Thanks again for supporting Chicago Public Schools and allowing us to have this wonderful resource in our classroom!”

• Science and Games Galore!

  Thank you for your generous donations. My students have loved using our new classroom games at Choice Time. They have provided us with many learning opportunities and brought joy to our learning space. Every day a different game is brought out to use. These games allow the kids to practice skills such as, turn taking, letter matching, counting, and more! The class favorite would have to be the frying donut game!

  The microscope has provided the class opportunities to get a closer look at objects. This has helped them become more intentional when drawing.”

• We All Learn Here Pt3

  Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. With your donation, last school year, we received many new books and sensory materials that were needed for the classroom. This school year, a new group of children are enjoying these books just as much during independent reading time and throughout the school day.

  Ravi's Roar is a classroom favorite that I use to teach the children about noticing anger. They love the illustrations and message of the story. Again, thank you for helping me cultivate my students love for reading.”
