My students have flourished in their studies with the use of technology. Our students are very proficient on Chromebook computers. Now, we are hoping that they can have a 21st century learning experience with a document camera. Throughout our school day, we could use our document camera and projector to display student work, lesson presentations, and interactive videos. Many of my students are visual learners, utilizing graphs, charts, thinking maps, and diagrams as they learn. In order to provide this support, we need an effective document camera that will enhance students' abilities to share and collaborate with one another. While learning about angles and fractions, my students will be able to see me model using manipulatives in the front of the classroom. A new document camera will also be used to display students' mathematical problem solving, writer's workshop pieces, and scientific thinking. Displaying this work enables classmates to learn from, and celebrate, one another's applied thinking and strategies. Collaboration and connection at its best. With a new document camera we can share, celebrate, and display my students' work. As I work to create engaging and motivating lessons I need to know that our document camera will be there to support them. Having a working document camera in our classroom is an essential tool my students need to properly access the curriculum in an engaging and interactive way.
