What better way to encourage a student's love of reading than to read and discuss with friends? These books will help to support our first endeavor into small group literature circles. Students will be able to self-select a book that they would like to read. We will delve into topics of diversity, awareness of culture, and kindness towards others. Students will benefit from this activity by learning how to plan, read, respond to, and discuss literature in a small group setting. By implementing literature circles using books that represent diverse children, the hope is to foster a lifelong love of reading and support students seeing themselves represented in literature.
