  • Magnatile Imagination and Construction

    Funded May 8, 2024

My students truly enjoy all of the magnets and bins you have provided for my STEAM lab. The kindergarten students built communities with the materials and learned about special jobs and important people. They collaborated and communicated in order to build. My other grade levels also enjoyed the supplies! They often used the items to help build creatively or along with other challenges. I plan to use them with the Kindergarten students again this year! Thank you for helping make this happen!”

  • Design and Play!

    Funded Aug 5, 2023

Thank you so much for taking the time to help our STEAM lab! The students absolutely love being able to design and build. Through your donations, I am able to help provide more materials for them to use. I have over 900 students and sometimes it can be an expensive task to provide new and exciting items. This year, I am focusing on building communities and the Magnatiles really help with that. The students build animal habitats, houses, and so much more with the magnets. I used the cups and straws during our annual Glow Week! This year's them was oceans and the students were tasked to create jellyfish and other sea animals. Thank you for your support. You make a difference.”

  • Create and Play!

    Funded Dec 21, 2022

Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to have more materials in our STEAM lab. We use items such as cups, masking tape, and pipe cleaners to build Makerspace challenges. The students are given options of materials to choose from and must complete a given task. Through your donations, those materials are now restocked. On other days, the students really enjoy imaginative play and showing what they have learned using building blocks. The most popular items in our lab just happen to be magnets! Now, they have a few more sets available to help them enjoy STEAM.

    Thank you!”

  • Making with Microbits

    Funded Oct 6, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my micro:bits project! Students in third through sixth grade have had a chance to learn how to program the micro:bits to play music, act as dice, and more! The students were able to communicate and collaborate with each other to learn how to program the device in order to get the desired outcome. Your donations provided more devices for the students to program. I cannot wait to work more with the students so they can integrate the micro:bits into other subjects. The possibilities are endless! Thank you!”

  • Containing STEAM!

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our STEAM lab! As you can see in the photos, we use bins for everything! Storage and organization of materials is key when you have so many items in one room! These storage bins allow me to contain the building materials, tools, and more in order to run my STEAM lab. The students use these bins daily and rotate the supplies amongst tables and shelves. The bins make it easier to transport the items and then to store them between classes. The clear bins really help so students can see what the items are inside. This also helps keep them organized when not in use. Thank you so much for your support!”

  • Table Top Learning!

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us get new tables for our STEAM lab! Our previous tables were well loved over many years in the county, but were proving to be a safety hazard. These new tables allow the students to meet in groups to collaborate and work together during class. Each class period, the students are tasked with designing or building. These sturdy tables provide the chance for students to work in groups and give us safes spaces to work. As the new tables were put together and placed in the lab, children clapped and were so proud to say they were sitting at new ones. It was fun to watch. This was made possibly through your generous donations. Thank you for supporting STEAM!”

  • Knocking Out Chain Reactions!

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your very kind donations to our STEAM lab. The students have truly enjoyed playing the dominos and learning about chain reactions. They have set up many different designs, individually and collaboratively. The students had a chance to plan out their ideas and test them out while also communicating with their peers. This was a great opportunity to discuss trial and error. Students worked through the engineering process to build their designs. If a design didn't work, they examined why, and then made changes to make things go their way. It has been so exciting watching the the students work with these fun dominos! Thank you again!”

  • Stop Animation Magic!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

My students have truly loved being able to create stop motion animation movies this year! The children have planned out story lines with characters, settings, and various props in order to make their movies! Recently, the students made movies based on what they learned in social studies or science this year! I saw so many topics being covered, which also served as a review for many classes. It was due to your generosity that I was able to provide this experience for my students! Making movies has certainly becoming a favorite activity in my STEAM lab! Thank you!”

Excited is how I would describe my students this year. They enjoy every moment they get to explore and learn new things! I have been building a community of learners and want a chance to expand my classroom into a partial Makerspace area. My goal is to provide my students with access to various items to help them build and create, in combination with their curriculum. In provide this new space for my students, I am asking for donations to help fill my classroom with more opportunities. I am looking for items that may increase the chance for creation: Legos, robotics, coding, and more. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
