The TACLE Program (Technology and Augmentative Communication for Learning Enhancement) is a special day class K-12 program in the Oakland Unified School District that provides quality academic and social experiences to students with Complex Communication Needs and Severe Speech and Physical Impairment. ​ We select and develop appropriate Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems for each student to achieve autonomy and full participation in school, family and community life. In order to effectively teach these students we need access to a wide range of technologies not only to provide customized instruction, but to individualize communication systems to meet the diverse needs of our students.
