  • Hands on Learning

    Funded Jan 21, 2022

Thank you so much for helping to give my students the materials they need to succeed and learn in their classroom. These adapted seats and cushions have drastically helped keep the students in their seats and engaged in the learning process.

The sensory materials were very enjoyable for the students. They were excited to see the fidget toys and now those are part of our transiting bag to and from the cafeteria and lunchroom. They can use them during the down time in those locations. It will help to calm their anxiety.

The next step for my students are to use the adapted learning materials to increase their independent skills. After they learn how to use these materials they can be utilized in a maintenance center to help them retain previously learned skills.

I can not say thank you enough to all of you. The help that you have given my students and their classroom is incredible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Memoli Jr.

  • Art 4 Autism

    Funded May 7, 2021

First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to read about our project and then giving the generous donations which helped make our project a success. This year has been difficult for both the students and the staff. The cleaning and disinfecting of materials and making sure not to cross contaminate is a must. This funded project now gives us the opportunity for each student to have their own art materials to create their own unique pieces reflecting their curriculum theme of study.

We chose water color also because with our special needs students, art materials can tend to make a mess. Watercolors are easy to clean and wash out of clothing. It also is free flowing so some of the students who might only touch the brush to the paper have the opportunity to have that water run and flow across the paper in their own unique way.

Again I can not say how much I appreciate the donations. This project has helped bring a smile to both students and staff faces at the end of this "interesting" school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Memoli Jr.

  • APE During Covid!

    Funded Mar 26, 2021

I can't thank you enough for your contribution to our school. These materials that we are using for Adaptive Physical Education with our District 75 Special Needs Students are wonderful. Both the students and the staff here at our school truly appreciate your assistance.

Now due to your contribution, we have enough materials for each class to use. There is one set that a class uses while the other set it cleaned. They are then collected and switched out again which decreases the chances of spreading COVID among the students or staff in different classrooms. This also gives us the opportunity to have the students complete simple tasks such as cleaning up, putting away, wiping and organizing.

Again I can not say how much we appreciate your donations. It has been wonderful to bring the students back outside for some fresh air this Spring and I look forward to the upcoming months.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Memoli Jr.

Currently the students are using visuals, picture symbols & TOBIs to communicate. It is difficulty for them to carry these items around with them and sometimes the symbols are misplaced. These I-pads will give the students a voice to request their wants/needs across all environments. They will learn to use an appropriate program (LAMP/Touch Chat) until they are ready to have the State come in to assess them for their own device. This technology is everywhere and we should give special needs students the same opportunity as their general education peers. Everyone has a right to their own voice and we should help to provide this for our students in District 75.
