My students have diverse special needs, but one thing they all have in common as kids who live in the city is that they struggle to spend meaningful time outside. The resources in this project will ensure that my classes can study biology concepts in an authentic garden setting while enjoying the healing properties of plant care and sunshine. Specifically, metal brackets will be used to construct raised garden beds with a seating area in the middle where students with disabilities as well as general education students can get their hands dirty by shoveling compost together, or simply sit and enjoy a beautiful day.
