Math is Much More Than Numbers
Funded Nov 3, 2011I am completely humbled and amazed by your generosity. My students desperately want new books to read and as a school we simply don't have them or the resources to acquire them. Even though I am their math teacher, I am well aware of the impact literacy will have on all of their subjects and you have single handedly brought 50 brand new books into my classroom.
Thank you again so much! I wish the bride a groom a long and happy life together, and may the generosity they (and you!) have shown be returned to them many times over!”
With gratitude,
Ms. H.
A Little Space for Me
Funded May 3, 2011The generosity of strangers can make such a difference in the lives of children. Your generosity has made a difference in the live of MY children. I can not thank you enough for your donation to my project. We try everyday to hide the budget cuts from our children and not have them feel the impact of our difficult economic times. However, it is getting increasingly difficult for us as class sizes are growing and supplies are missing or broken.
Your gifts have allowed me to make our classroom a more comfortable place. The items that you purchased give my children more space and make them feel a little more special. Thanks again!! ”

Funded Jan 3, 2011What an amazing impact your donation has made on my classes! The ability to present any thing at any time has opened up so many more options for us in this class. When someone has something wonderful to share, it only takes a second to take a picture of it and present it to the class! When we find something in a book that is worth completing, but there are not enough copies of the book to go around, it is easy to pop it up on the smart board and everyone can benefit at the same time! I haven't even gotten into the environmental impact yet. The need for 100 copies of everything has evaporated! The paper cost that we are saving is amazing. What a wonderful classroom tool! Thanks again!”

Funded Jan 21, 2011On behalf of myself and my students, I would like to thank you for your incredible generosity. At this time, as we are preparing for the all important state tests it has been invaluable to have all of the different levels of books to work from. The students all have different needs, and before this new arrival of supplies it was very difficult to address them all at the same time.
The children have also appreciated the independence that these books have given them. They are all able to answer questions on the topics that we are learning about. They are no longer waiting around for the 'smart kids' to answer everything.”

Ms. H.
Math is More Than Numbers
Funded Oct 20, 2010Can you imagine what it must be like to see children who have avoided getting involved in math all year suddenly develop a huge interest? Well, your generosity has allowed me to see just that. I have a number of students who have been very intimidated all year by the content. However, when they helped me unpack the boxes of books their enthusiasm came to life. Suddenly they were grabbing books and racing back to their seats so excited to get started. We now even have story time during homeroom! Children never outgrow the joy of being read to, and because of you I am able to share that with them! Their literacy and math skills are growing everyday!”

Funded Oct 12, 2010Thank you so much for making my children feel special!! The past few weeks with our new games and supplies have been so wonderful! The children are all making sure that they finish their assignments so that they get the opportunity to 'play'. The enthusiasm has grown exponentially in my room this year. To see my children make connections with the different units that they have studied in math is a powerful thing. They are learning that math is bigger then just the textbook! Even my mathphobics are looking forward to next week when we start our geometry unit. That is a first!! ”
