I would like my students to have a special, comfy corner where they can read and work on projects. I believe that flexible sitting will increase my students' willingness to work harder. It will also encourage creativity and productivity.
For example, my students can take turns going to this special corner to read with a partner. They can also use the corner for our writing time. This is a place where they will be able to really use their thinking without being disrupted.
Many students need a break from traditional sitting models. They focus better when they have a space where they can retrieve and work quietly by themselves, with a partner, or in a trio. I really think a special corner will make a difference in many of my students.
