I am so excited about all the possibilities Flexible Seating will bring to my Clase de Manzanitas. "Mis Manzanitas", that is what I call my students, which translates to "My little Apples" because my students are truly the apple of my eye. When I started teaching I knew one of the most important things for me was to always provide a welcoming, safe, and enriching environment for my students to learn and flourish in. One question that I always repeat to myself at the end of each day is, "What am I doing to reach each one of my different learners? I noticed that when I gave my students different options for working instead of just sitting at their desks they truly flourished! By donating to our project you are helping change the life of my students by recognizing that the needs of all students are different and recognizing students learn best when they have some control of their environment. The Flexible Comfy Floor Seats and Flex- Space Balance Balls you help fund will promote choice and collaboration between my students. They will also provide sensory input and safe movement to those students that need it. Instead of punishing students who learn best when they bounce,fidget, twist, etc., students will finally feel understood and accepted. I have bought many small pillows and small carpet rugs to have around my classroom so students can use when they choose to work on the floor. I do it for my students, because I love them and want them to succeed. I am positive that these Flexible Seating will truly help them succeed!
