Ed Podcast

Funded Apr 4, 2019

The students have immersed themselves into the storytelling process. Additionally, the students have started learning how to record their own podcasts and how to edit their own clips. I have witnessed students' creativity come alive since returning to school. Students who seldom talk in class are now speaking out and questioning the process.

All of my students had no prior experience of podcasting: now, the students are stopping me in the halls to offer suggestions. The students are most excited about creating a product that can be shared with the world. Yes, the new equipment helps us to achieve our goals; but, the product that is most important is what the equipment yields. Each student is excited to have their characters come alive and share their adventures with an audience.

All of the students have gravitated to using the recording devices, some more than others. However, I have observed the students learning more about the application GarageBand and teaching me things that I didn't know while using the app. Our school is not an Apple school, but the students have started discussing about the functionality of their products and how the products are more manageable.”

With gratitude,
