  • A Timeline of Heroes

Students took what they knew about any African-American heroes learned from the books and pluged in their research into the hexagons to look like a quilt. When finished, we put them together as a class to create a bulletin board display. My student Tom absolutely loved creating the quilt. These math materials will help make a difference in my students learning through fun and engaging activities and games that include addition, subtraction, magnet tiles to explore geometry concept as they build, and measurement. Students will be able to work in collaborative groups to solve addition and subtraction problems with a super-fun way to build addition skills with instant reinforcement where students just touch an answer with the special pen that tells them if they’re right or wrong. Students get excited about math as they create problems they can see and solve students just stack counting beads onto the pegged base and place corresponding number and operation tiles in front.
