This year becoming self-contained, I realized how iPads would help support my students in the classroom. A 4th-grade dual language classroom that helps develop the student's skills in both English and in Spanish. We don’t have any iPads in the classroom and adding 5 would be just perfect. The idea I’m gearing towards this year is incorporating literature circles and iPads to get my students thinking, reading, listening, speaking, and writing. From those listed above, most importantly I want them creating in all subjects. They can use the iPad as a tool to record their discussion (questions, connections, and inferences) from what they’ve read or learned. What’s great about it all is that they will be developing language skills. Recording themselves speak will help them build their social skills. I not only plan on using the iPads in reading but in math and science also. At first because it is something new I do expect the kids to be shy but I can’t wait to see them flourish into being confident in themselves around others in not just one but two languages. Thank you.
