  • Bounce with BOSU

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

When I saw that generous donors had contributed to my project, I was overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude. Their support helped turn this idea into a reality for my students. Using BOSU Balance Trainers had been something I had wanted to try for a couple of years, but I wasn't sure how to approach it. Finally, I decided to give DonorsChoose a try—and I was thrilled when my project was fully funded by such amazing donors especially right before Christmas break! That was a great gift!

The students were eager to engage with the BOSU Balance Trainers and develop their balance and coordination skills. Adding this equipment in different stations proved to be highly effective. As captured in the pictures, they remained focused—listening carefully, concentrating on their movements, and enthusiastically motivating their peers. Additionally, as they grew more confident, many students began working independently on the BOSU trainers, further improving their balance, coordination, and overall body control with each challenge they tackled.

I've only just begun with this project, trying out several ideas. I plan to continue to use them throughout the rest of the year, helping more students improve their strength and coordination and having fun with exercise.”

    With gratitude,

  • Lace Up for Action: Learn to Tie Your Shoes

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

When I saw that generous donors had contributed to my project, I was overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude. Their support helped turn this idea into a reality for my students. Teaching shoe-tying was something I had wanted to try for years, but I wasn't sure how to approach it. Finally, I decided to give DonorsChoose a try—and I was thrilled when my project was fully funded by such amazing donors!

The students were thrilled to explore the variety of shoes and practice their shoe-tying skills. Partnering up worked wonderfully, as one person could hold down the cardboard shoe templates while the other practiced tying. As shown in the pictures, students were fully engaged—listening attentively, concentrating, and eagerly helping their peers master each step of the process.

Although I've only just begun this project, I hope to continue it throughout the rest of the year, helping more students learn to tie their shoes and gain confidence in this essential skill.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kelso

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 5 other donors.
