Sensory Boards!
Funded Mar 14, 2023This project touched the lives of the kindergarten class that we distributed the sensory boards to, the students immediately interacted with the different aspects of the boards.
My EAST students worked hard to create sensory boards that would both entertain and educate the kindergarten classroom that they had partnered with. They researched various objects to try to find the perfect sensory objects.
Students in the kindergarten class as well as the teacher and principal at the school were pleased with the sensory boards. They actually wanted more of them to use in the future.”

Sounds Good!
Funded Dec 28, 2022This group of students has developed a podcast about middle school books. Another group of students inspired by their podcast have made a podcast about our school and happenings in our town. They have learned about recording and sound quality as well as ways to reach their audience. Our podcast are listed on Spotify and Amazon Prime. The students are so excited to share their work with others.
The middle school book group has shared their work at a national conference. Judges and participants who were at the conference were impressed by their ability to record professional podcast and post them on sites that are accessible to anyone with internet access.
The podcast project has given students confidence to share their thoughts with an audience. That are more confident writers and speakers because of this project. I can't wait to share this project with students next year.”

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 4 other donors.3D Printing to Help Our Community
Funded Jul 30, 2020This has been a great learning experience for my students. Students have worked hard to perfect their design as well as trouble shoot any issues with the 3D printer. Students are using a website called Thingyverse.com to come up with a base model. They use that design and build upon their starting design to come up with the perfect frame to fit the clear plastic which forms the shield.
I have students who come in each day asking if they can print a new version. They brainstorm and think about this project continuously. This has inspired them to want to learn more and do more for our community using the 3D printer.
I am so thankful for Donor's Choose and this opportunity. Without this donation, my students would have missed out on an awesome learning opportunity.
Thank you again.”

Create With 3D
Funded Feb 14, 2020My students had a few weeks to experiment with the 3D pens before we were sent home because of the corona virus. Students enjoyed creating both artistic and useful objects with the 3D pens. Using the templates that came with one of the pens, they were able to create objects with more accuracy. We found that the filament for the pens was extremely strong and durable. Can't wait till we go back in August so we can experiment. more. I feel that with more time and experience my students can learn to use the 3D pens as experts.”

Get Rolling with Sphero
Funded Dec 28, 2018My students have loved programming the sphero balls. It has renewed interest in programing and coding. My students were needing something new to inspire them to want to continue with learning to code.
After I charged the sphero balls, they used them non-stop. Eventually the battery died, students kept asking if the sphero balls were charged yet.
The sphero bolt has the capability to project images on a small screen. We used the Sphero Bolt close to Valentines day, the students figured out how to project a heart on the screen.
The sphero's have become one of the favorite things to do in while in my classroom. Thank you so much for donating to my project.”
