  • Learning How to Shrink Your Emotional Spot

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

The books purchased are used for teaching children character skills. They help students understand what emotions are and what they look like. The books and materials are being used to teach students how to handle their emotions in a healthy way.

The 1st though 3rd grade students rotate into Character skills class every 8 days. In the class a book is read and discussed. This is followed by an activity on the emotion that is being taught.

The students who are in trouble more in class show a great deal of interest in the books and the material. They like to go back to class and share with their teachers and use what they have learned in the classroom.

The books are also shared with teachers to touch on a situation that might be happening in the classroom to give the students an extra lesson on that topic.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Clark
