Graph It Like A Boss!
Funded Nov 17, 2023My students were thrilled to receive the graphing post-its. It made their work so much easier and clearer, and they were able to focus on the concept we were working on rather than drawing a graph. The students were able to draw precise graphs very quickly which was important to the lesson because accuracy was emphasized. They were so engaged and excited to use the post-its. The post-its saved so much time and the students were able to move them around and stick them in their notes when they were done. The students look forward to using them again.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Hawai'i State Department of Education and 2 other donors.About How Tall?
Funded Nov 15, 2022Thanks to your generous donations, my students received high-end compasses and tape measures to use in the Trigonometry unit. We learned the Tangent ratio and how to use it to approximate the height of a very tall object. They measured their distance from their object using the tape measure and approximated the angle of elevation using the compass. In the end, they were able to estimate the height of trees, buildings and poles.
The students appreciated the tape measures and compasses and were excited to leave the walls of the classroom and experience real life application of Trig functions. This experience will leave a lasting impression on them.
My students will hopefully learn how to apply trigonometry in real life situations as it is very applicable in many areas. Thank you for contributing to their experience.”

Ms. Yamada
