Practicing an instrument can be boring. Here at my middle school we are changing that! No more practice-logs. No more lonely practicing sitting at home in a closed bedroom. It's time to move on to SmartMusic! This online platform energizes students' interest in perfecting their craft, while having fun at the same time. With an instrument, headphones and a computer, students practice their music along with professional band recordings. In their ears, they become part of a large professional ensemble! We have the software, now we only need the last step; Chromebooks. Many students do not have adequate computers at home to access our online music curriculum, and it's up to us to find a way to get laptops in their hands! Without access to computers at home, students need to come into the band room after/before school. All we need are the Chromebooks to make this possible!
