I Scream! They Scream! We All Scream For Tablets!
Funded Mar 30, 2016Thank you for listening to our voices and donating 4 new tablets to our classroom. My students and I greatly appreciate this new technology. They are are thrilled with excitement. Having these tablets has made it possible to practice math and language arts through a more interactive approach. We use apps and a reading program to help them increase academically. Students take turns following along with the lesson or researching topics for a lesson. They practice their vocabulary, sight words, comprehension, fluency, and writing skills. In math the tablets has helped them learn place value, adding and subtracting, word problems, multiplication facts, geometry and problem solving skills.
My students love when they are able to use the listening feature which assist them with struggling words or gives them the opportunity to repeat a lesson until they have reached mastery. They also love that they can use the tablet at their own pace. The students love when they can challenge their classmates when using the same app and/or collaborate on similar skills.
There are some particular students who see me down the hall and ask if I will pick them up today or remind me that it is their turn to use the tablet. These tablets has helped my students become innovative thinkers, problem solvers and technology wizards through your donation. Thank you.”

Funded Mar 10, 2016My students and I will like to applaud your donation of two mini ipads for our classroom. Your donation has helped our students enrich their literacy and math skills with technology. The students are now taking turns using the ipads to practice academic vocabulary, improve their phonic and handwriting skills, increase their sight words, and most importantly read stories at their independent reading level and answer comprehension questions. The mini ipads has also improve the student's math skills. Now they have the opportunity to explore and practice math concepts learned in class such as place value, addition and subtraction word problems, basic algebra, multiplication and build their confidence on a daily basis.
The mini ipads has helped my teaching practices as well. The mini ipads give me the opportunity to give more one on one support while the other students are engaged with preplanned activities to challenge their learning. This product is exciting to my students because it is fun and hand-on. I have been able to include the mini ipads when differentiating my instruction for my visual and tactile learners.
Thank you for helping our classroom engage in enriching activities that are fun and is helping them advance academically. Just to see the excitement on the faces of all my students and see how motivated they are to complete the lesson created makes my job as a teacher worthwhile.”

Funded Dec 3, 2015After receiving the interactive whiteboard, our classroom has improved drastically with visual and tactile support. All my students are able to view the interactive whiteboard and actively participate as a collaborative group. They all learn through interactions by coming up to the board and selecting their choices.
The interactive whiteboard is exciting to all my students because they are able to touch the whiteboard and manipulate the visual items on the board. They are excited to raise their hands and are eager to participate for every question given. I am glad to see the enthusiasm grow each and everyday.
All of my students have learned to warm up to this new technology by expressing their excitement to answer the questions for the lesson. They are more focused and are getting along much better. There is one particular student that said "I love it when you teach me..." or "this class is fun" and those statements have given me the reassurance that I have made a difference in their learning.”

Funded Dec 31, 2010On behalf of our class, I cannot express our appreciation for your generous donation. Your personal commitment was incredibly helpful and allowed our students to become better readers and writers. When we first received our supplies of crayons and markers, the students were so excited to see that we had enough materials for everyone. They were so anxious to finish their writings and put color into their work. We incorporate sharing all around the classroom, so every table was given a set of markers and crayons. Everyday during writing workshop our students have been using the supplies to enrich their work. Then we received the books shipment. The students ran to see all the new books, which they never seen. They started to say "Wow look ..." We also put out a set of different books at each table for them to share. The children were curious to see what kind of books we had; they were anxious to read them and are now able to complete age appropriate book reports. They have the flexibility to choose a variety of different books every week, either from their group basket or the classroom basket. These new leveled books are allowing our students to practice their decoding skills, sight words, blending and segmenting. After several weeks we received our classroom rug. The students were at lunch when the shipment arrived. When they returned from lunch, they were shocked to see such a big and colorful rug. They all ran and laid on it. Their faces where filled with happiness. They were all claiming different animals as their seat. This rug has not only been a comfortable area for them to read but also a place for group time and book talks. This rug has also helped us in our classroom management, not only are they sitting in their assigned animals but they have learned to take ownership and care for their spot on the rug. Everyday a different table is allowed to lay or sit on the rug to read. The students have become very engaged in their reading. Our students are swimming faster to success with these wonderful resources. Thank you again for your support and effort to brighten their education.”
