Many of my students do not have the opportunity to use hands on manipulatives and tools. Having students be able to use hands on tools help them learn in new, exciting and engaging ways. They gain reasoning skills and confidence in their Math ability/Science knowledge. Students will use the materials on a daily basis to achieve lesson objectives. My goal is to help develop students mathematical thinking skills by giving them tools they can use to test and solve problems. I have wished for many of these items on my list. Being able to explain a problem is good but having the students be able to work out the problem using these hands on materials can be a game changer in their worlds.
