Materials & Supplies for a Successful School Year
Funded Oct 19, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity! Working with students with disabilities has always proven to be a challenge and I have always advocated to help them and their families. Your support in helping me fund this project makes me so excited and also brings tears to my eyes to know how supported I am by all of you in my career! Thank you again for your ongoing support!”

Give Each Student a Voice
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for all of your support to help our students find their voice. Many of our students would not have had the opportunity to use a device such as the iPad to help facilitate communication. The circumstances they deal with do not allow them to have access to these devices. Our school and our community is not well funded and is in a high need area that requires supplemental support. With your help we have been able to provide them with the tools they need to prosper.
After receiving the iPads and downloading communications apps such as Proloquo2go, LAMP words for life, and other apps, our non-verbal students were better able to engage in their day to day environment. We have seen tremendous progress with our non-verbal students communicating by choice making, turn taking, commenting, and requesting in the classroom, lunchroom, playground, and other school environments. We have also downloaded various educational apps for our verbal students to enhance all aspects of language and communication. The iPads occasionally serve as a reward for our students that require a behavioral intervention plan and keeps them motivated to continue working.
All of our students have warmed to this new technology and adapted to it rather quickly. They are all eager to work when they see the iPads out on the table and this would not be possible without your help and support. Thank you so much for your kind and generous donations. My colleagues Tim Carlson, Celeste Cruz, Sandy Marcus and I truly appreciate it.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Doko
