Using Karaoke to Create Enthusiasm!
Funded Feb 4, 2022My students were so excited the day our karaoke machine arrived. It motivated them to work more diligently on writing their persuasive speeches knowing that they would be speaking in front of the class. However, as more motivation, we put together our school's first annual TedTalk presentation day. Students used the karaoke machine/microphone to excitedly give their persuasive speeches on what they think our school needs to improve -- in front of the entire 5th grade (on stage).
We often also use the karaoke machine in class to recite poetry on poetry days, as well as used it for some "scary storytelling". As it is the end of the year, will have some fun with it and have a karaoke song party (building social emotional learning). These kids deserve it!
Thank you again for donating and for making a difference in a NYC public school classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by A New York City Parent and 4 other donors.Writing Powers The Brain!
Funded Dec 31, 2021The laminating machine has been wonderful for our classroom! For example, students worked on writing TedTalk persuasive speeches and were proud to laminate their covers for their reports. Students also laminated information books they wrote. We also decorated our classroom door with beautiful laminated parrots with each student name! My students love to know that laminating their work makes it last longer! A laminating machine is gold in a classroom! We appreciate all who made it happen.Thank you!!!!”
