The majority of my students are English Language Learners at a Title I school. They have a desire to read more, but they often do not have the books that carry their interest long enough to make a difference. Being new to teaching 5th grade reading, I've inherited a lackluster classroom library with books so old they are falling apart. I've purchased quite a few, but they are voracious readers who always need more books to read. The books I've asked for help in purchasing are high interest grade-level appropriate books that I know will help my students become better readers as well as lifelong book lovers.
