  • Bringing Color and Creativity to Therapeutic Activities!

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

I wish you could see the faces of the kids! All the bright colors and new supplies have really increased motivation. We started off by creating some Valentine's Day projects with the new supplies. I now have a place to store their projects until completed along with the new supplies I have also received. I have seen so much progress with my students with special needs. I know nothing is impossible for them to achieve. Thank you for being a part of their journey. Your generous gift will continue to motivate them when I incorporate the supplies and materials in future projects we do throughout the school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kelly Ann

  • Strength-based Approach to Writing!

    Funded Jan 16, 2023

I wish you could see the faces of the kids! All the bright colors and new supplies have really increased motivation. We started off by making some time capsules that they highlighted their current interests and strengths. My hope is that they will not only remember doing this activity but they can also see how far they come 10 years from now when they open their time capsules. I have seen so much progress with my students with special needs. I know nothing is impossible for them to achieve. Thank you for being a part of their journey. Your generous gift will continue to motivate them when I incorporate the supplies and materials in future projects we do throughout the school year.”

  • A Multi-Sensory Approach to Learning Handwriting!

    Funded Dec 24, 2022

The students could not wait to use all of the fun, sensory, fine motor materials. As soon as they saw the materials, they excitedly asked "Oooooo can we play with that today!". They are able to learn and practice correct letter formation in fun and exciting ways that is motivating to them. Not only are these materials providing motivation but an increase in engagement too with my special needs students. We will continue incorporating using these materials in our therapy sessions. It is all thanks to you! Thank you for being generous and helping my students get these awesome supplies and materials :)”

  • Sensory Solutions & Mindfulness Techniques

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

My heart is filled with gratitude. My students were able to use the calming techniques on the resources when using the calming corner. My students and I will continue to implement the activities and use the resources so they can add to their toolbox of strategies to help them succeed in school. When they first saw the supplies and activities, they were beyond eager to use the activities. In addition to the calming resources, my kindergarten students were also excited to use the fine motor and writing activities too. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of myself and the special needs students I work with.”

  • Sensory Seating Solutions for Students With Disabilities

    Funded Feb 4, 2020

I want to thank you for the generosity that you have displayed to my students. All of the Sensory Seating Solutions that were donated have already been put to good use. Flexible seating options allows the students to move in their seats, rock, wobble, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. This helps keep young minds more focused and alert. It provides these students with the input they need, while allowing them to perform tabletop activities or engage in circle time on the floor. Your gift of these amazing seating options has truly made a positive impact on my students and their ability to concentrate for longer periods of time. The proprioceptive feedback is given to children who are easily distracted, hyperactive and lacking in concentration when they use the move and sit cushions. They get excited when they have the chance to choose which seating option they want to use for different activities. So I thank you and my students thank you.”

  • Sensory Solutions to Help Students with Disabilities!

    Funded Mar 20, 2019

I want to thank you for the generosity that you have displayed to my students. All of the Sensory Solutions that were donated have already been put to good use. We use the iPad to play videos and utilize sensory calming techniques in the therapy room for kids that are over-stimulated. The move and sit cushion provides an alternative seating option for children that have difficulty sitting still while trying to focus. It provides them with the input they need, while allowing them to perform tabletop activities. Your gift of this amazing cushion has truly made a positive impact on my students and their ability to concentrate for longer periods of time. The weighted shoulder and lap pad provide proprioceptive feedback to children who are easily distracted, hyperactive and lacking in concentration.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kelly Ann

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help provide some sensory strategies for those students currently having difficulties regulating their sensory systems. I am requesting items such as a weighted lap pad to help provide input when needed. I am also requesting an iPad to help play soothing music, videos, and to be able to use some programs that also target sensory calming or sensory alerting strategies. By helping these students regulate their sensory systems, they can be better able to access information presented to them using a variety of methods by their teachers, para-professionals and/or therapists. By donating to this project, you too can help these students with disabilities access their education alongside their peers more effectively.
