I have many roles at the school including teacher, librarian, and technology/media specialist. My students already receive library skills instruction and shared reading lessons. I have struggled, however, when it some to my role as technology/media specialist. Part of my job is to teach digital and media literacy. This would give students a set of skills involving the effective use of computers and other digital devices for the purposes of communication, expression, collaboration and advocacy. I want to integrate technology, e-resources, and e-books into media literacy library lessons. To do this, I need technology available in the library. Currently, the only technology I have is 4 outdated desktop computers. I need all students to have access to a computer in order to participate in digital media lessons. I am asking for Chromebooks that would allow me to effective teach all students K-6 digital media lessons.
