  • Books Clubs Are Fun!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Through these books and audio CDs, my students are able to enjoy stories that might otherwise be too difficult for them. They are introduced to new vocabulary and hear stories with more advanced story lines.

With these resources, students were able to meet in groups of four with very little teacher assistance. These groups were given the recording and everyone had a copy of the book for themselves. They listened to each chapter as a group and then discussed anything they felt was interesting or that they had questions about.

The students loved the sense of independence they had while reading these books. They learned how to work cooperatively in an academic situation and work through difficulties together. They also got to enjoy a story and discover a new author.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levitt

  • Help Refill Our Supplies!

    Funded Feb 1, 2021

My students and I truly appreciate the materials we received from your generosity. With these materials, my students all have what they need to be successful students. Due to the back and forth nature of this school year, many materials were lost or misplaced and this project allowed me to give all of my students the replacements they needed.

When the boxes started arriving, my students were thrilled to see everything that was inside. They were excited to have everything they needed back in their desk and no longer need to ask to borrow items.

Luckily, we are all now back in the classroom 5 days a week and hoping to stay here through the end of the school year. We really appreciate your help during this unusual school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levitt

  • Hybrid Learning Supplies

    Funded Aug 30, 2020

My students use these resources daily. As a blended classroom, students have to bring all of their belonging home with them each day and these resources make it so easy for them. They are able to use their dry erase boards whether they are at home and can hold them up to the camera or if they are in school and show me their work directly.

When they first saw all of the materials, they were excited. Each student had a big smile on their face. When they realized they were for them to keep, they were ecstatic. Students kept saying thank you and are excited to use them daily.

Currently, we are into a routine of having fully remote days when our building is shut down balanced with being in the building 2-3 days a week. Having these supplies makes these transitions so much easier and smoother.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levitt

  • Group Work Flexible Seating Space

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

When my fifth graders first saw our new materials there were smiles and excitement all around. They are so excited to use this new area in so many ways. Students always hurry to be the first ready for independent reading so they can use the new chairs. As a co-teaching classroom, this has become a perfect area for small group instruction to meet with one teacher as the whole class works on a separate yet similar task without distractions with the other teacher. When students are working on a task with a group of 2-3 other students, they love to be the group that gets to work here. Even during independent work time students ask to move to this area to be able to focus and spread out. I know my students will continue to enjoy this area for the remainder of the school year for a variety of activities. Thanks so much for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

  • Flexible Seating for Fidgety Students

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom. My students are actively using the new seating and it is making them more excited to learn. My students hurry to be the first ready so that they can choose the seat they want.

When the materials arrived my students were very curious about what was in all of the boxes. As I opened up the boxes and assembled the stools, they kept asking when they could use them. They were very excited! When I opened the floor seats, some students actually gasped! They couldn't wait to use them.

Because these 6 seats have been such a help for students to stay focused, I am planning to ask for a few more flexible seating options in the near future. These choices have really made my students excited to learn! Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levitt

My fifth grade students are in a co-teaching classroom to better address their academic needs. However, many students have a hard time staying on task because they are unable to sit still in their seat! Our classroom is spacious but seating options are very limited. Students love being able to sit away from their desk but their options are limited. The few choices they have are quickly claimed by the first students who need to move. With the wobble stools and floor seating as options, more students will be able to comfortably move around the room anytime they need to.
