Table Space to Reach Our Goals
Funded Oct 18, 2023Thank you so much for your donations! Many of my students are working hard to progress this year and your donation will allow them to receive beneficial instruction to reach their goals. They also want to thank you as they enjoy learning in their smaller groups and now that is more comfortable thanks to your donation.”

Funded Sep 26, 2020At the start of last year many of my students were left with no way to continue their education. Going fully-remote left many of them and their families with no materials or access to schooling. Most of the students did not start classes again until this school year in September 2020. Right away there was a need for technology lessons and academic lessons. Thankfully, they all had devices but that did not come with security.
The students I serve this year already were behind and falling deeper into the gap of education, specifically special education. The materials I requested for us, were to help them feel more like they were at school even when looking at me through the screen. Although we are remote many of them still needed basic in-person supplies like pencils, sharpeners, notebooks and crayons.
The materials are also helping many of them reach IEP goals since it allowed them to organize themselves, break down tasks into reachable milestones, and improve skills they had gained. The families were thankful as they wanted access to the curriculum that was not only online. They wanted their children to remember what they had already learned. The graph paper notebooks have opened up new strategies to the ever so challenging math they struggled with. Whiteboards have allowed them to lower frustration levels when they are not able to access apps, websites and other resources. As their teacher, the webcam and laptop stand has allowed me to deliver clear and interactive lessons while using multiple platforms.
Your donations have helped my students deal with a challenging time that many still express so much fear about. Although they have been improving their technological skills, some of them still rely on their notebooks to engage in lessons and that is all I could ask of them when they are confused, scared, and patient with what is happening.”

To Infinity and Beyond...Google
Funded Jan 13, 2019We are grateful for all the donations! My students are really using the new chromebooks to take full advantage of reading different types of texts. I have several students who have found a new love for reading and have increased their reading levels by 2 grade levels or more (about 7 reading levels up). It has also increased their research and typing knowledge. I introduced my students to using search engines to help them across subjects, where as before they only knew how to use them for entertainment purposes.
Along with their research, they typed their first informative writing pieces. They were also introduced to using Google Drive. I left feedback on how to revise and edit their work. They did not know that they could type and I could view their work simultaneously. The students were excited watching me edit with them and getting the opportunity to edit their work themselves. The idea of being able to type our persuasive letters has made them excited to continue and to learn how to type faster.
There were some students who through out the year have been hesitant about certain subjects and the chromebooks allowed me to offer them accommodations that would let them produce their work along with tying in their interests. This allowed them to produce work they did not want to produce earlier in the year.
Again from class 550 we greatly appreciate all that you have given us, because it is much more than just technology.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rodriguez
