Starting after winter break my school is going completely no cell phones. I couldn't be happier to have my students back from the phone zombies they easily can become! Even during exciting labs where we are completely hands on and excited, I still have students who choose their phone over learning. It is lovely to have the school support to once and for all stop this problem!! With that said however, I have previously allowed my students to use their phones for calculations and timers. Eliminating this technology has now brought an urgent need for me to get a classroom set of calculators and timers for my students to use. Most of my lab exercises use calculations at some point and a few of my labs also use a timer. Some of my calculator needed labs include measuring specimen under a microscope and calculating total profit after mining chocolate chips out of a cookie! Thank you for your consideration in helping me reach this goal (hopefully by January)!
