Our students have the opportunity to go to Sixth Grade Camp to participate in hands-on learning about Environmental Science, Earth Science, to learn outdoor survival skills and also participate in team-building and character building exercises. They will learn about tolerance and hopefully a lot about themselves. Everyone deserves a chance to be part of nature, to have new experiences, and to grow as individuals, regardless of socio-economical backgrounds. Children rarely get the chance to go outside and be part of nature anymore. This is very true for those who come from lower-income areas, like the children I teach. I am hoping that my students will be given the chance to go on this experience because they do not have this opportunity in their every day lives. For some of them, this will be their only chance to go camping or participate in these kinds of activities. I hope that you will be able to help my students gain these unforgettable (and for some) once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Thank you so much for your support!
