    Funded Mar 28, 2024

Thank you so much for contributing to our project! You have helped make this experience unforgettable for the kids. Core memories will be made! My students are so excited to be putting on their first play and you have really given us the opportunity to go above and beyond. Thank you!!”

  • Making Learning STEMtastic!

    Funded Feb 11, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our class! Because we had so many generous donors in the last project, we were able to create an entire other project with more STEM items to transfer to an entire other project! My students were so excited to be able to incorporate more fun, exciting, engaging elements into our classroom. Not only did we have the opportunity to incorporate them this year, but my students next year will be able to benefit from them as well! We are so excited to be chemists, engineers, biologists, and mathematicians! Thank you so much for your help :)”

    With gratitude,

  • STEM Supplies to Grow our Love of Learning!

    Funded Feb 1, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! All of the resources from our STEM project have been used and implemented already in so many fun ways! Whether it is in our school garden, watching the hummingbirds come by our feeder, or experimenting and building in our classroom, the students have had a ball thanks to you all!

When supplies first arrived, students were still in a virtual learning environment, and our school custodian brought all of the packages in while I was on zoom. The students were SO excited as I did an unboxing of all of our goodies, they could not wait to see them in person! Kits were sent home with students, as well as used in the classroom in the afternoon when a small group of students came in and participated in STEM activities. It wouldn't have been possible without you! We are so grateful!”

  • Books To Keep Us From Going Bonkers!

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Thank you so much for helping bring some fun, engaging, hands on materials into our classroom! It has been such a wonderful experience having books for each of us to have and hold during a time when so much of our learning is digital. We have already been able to read through Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and do an entire novel study unit around it. It has been a great way to increase engagement and veer away from our textbooks for a while. We have been able to learn and practice our essential 5th grade skills and standards in a way that takes it to a new, engaging level.

Thanks to all of your donations, the students in our class, no matter what reading level or differing needs we have, we were all able to dive in and enjoy our novels. Thank you so much for all of your kind donations, we are very excited to move on to our next class set of novels, The One and Only Ivan! We appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hartig

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose 20th Anniversary Fund and 10 other donors.
By adding class sets of books, I will be able to keep my students from going technology crazy and keep their minds learning while reading! Students will be spending half of their day learning online, whether it be through zoom or google classroom, and I am hoping to add some old school paperback books to break up their day and keep their minds going strong. I will be using novels to teach various language arts strategies that go beyond our textbooks, whether it be from home or when we return to the classroom. I will be incorporating some amazing titles, like Holes, Bridge to Terabithia, Hatchet, and The One and Only Ivan to keep my students engaged and excited about their learning. Help us stay motivated, engaged, and give our minds a break from technology!
