The games chosen will help students build social skills by teaching them to take turns, follow rules, get along, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. The games chosen additionally aid in helping them learn their colors (Candyland) counting (Trouble), patterns (Checkers), to think about strategies (Checkers) and get them to think about and ask questions (Guess Who). My students are enrolled in an extended day school and we live in an area where the weather can prevent us from getting outside most days. Games allow them to have an outlet for their energy, while at the same time allowing them to learn concepts and social skills at the same time.
