  • Jumping for Jiggles

    Funded Dec 29, 2024

Thank you for helping us jiggle and learn. Our floor is so hard and we get restless and wiggle around and usually we wiggle right out of our spots.... but those bouncy donuts sure do help us stay in our spot (not to mention, are much softer!)!!

The donuts help us wiggle and jiggle and get some giggles out when we are doing some songs and whole group work on the BIG BOARD. The donuts really do help get the jiggles out while keeping us focused on our work and learning.

Wiggling and jiggling are part of the learning process and making the space we wiggle and learn in a bit softer helps so much. Thank you for helping make the learning a bit softer and even more fun! Much appreciation to you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kennedy

  • Kinder Games

    Funded May 14, 2022

I want to extend a gracious thank you on behalf of my students. The students have been so busy "oohing and awing" on the games. The communication that the students are doing is great. We are all working on using our big kid voices and complete sentences that it is amazing to hear the progress in speech in such a small period of time. Students are mingling and interacting with others in class that they would not usually interact with and including everyone in the games.

When the items arrived, I could hardly contain my excitement, much less the kiddos excitement. We spent the day talking and playing "Kinder Games" and learning so much!

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the awesome contributions that you have made for many students this year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kennedy

  • Math Centers for Everyone

    Funded Dec 17, 2021

Thank you for your generosity. My students and many others to come will love the gift of learning for the rest of their lives. When your packages arrived the students said it looked like Christmas around the classroom with new things to do and create.

At the time that the centers arrived we were working on sentence structure. We were learning about punctuation, capital letters and spacing. It was very nice to see the students using the high frequency word blocks to create sentences using the word blocks.

Many sentences have since been made and vocabulary has increased for all my students.

Thank you again for gifting the gift of independence and growth in reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kennedy

  • Junior Chefs

    Funded Aug 17, 2021

My students have been so excited to play in our kitchen!! they have been chopping and serving and talking up a storm.

They enjoy going in the kitchen and spending quality time with their friends. I know that they do not understand the impact that their conversations are having on their life skills and language skills right now, but I have a few kiddos who need help with acquiring better language skills and the kitchen is one of the places that communicating is KEY and it is WORKING.

The kiddos were so excited to see what came from the store and asked questions about some of the items that they were unfamiliar with (like egg plant, strawberry jam, peas and peaches). They were ready to go "shopping" with their little grocery kart (that was previously empty and awaiting a delivery of groceries).

This area of my classroom is the MOST SOUGHT AFTER CENTER...and it is all because of you and your generosity to my students.

Now to see what great dishes they will serve me next...”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kennedy

  • Ready! Set! GO!

    Funded May 26, 2021

I want to thank you all for the wonderful materials that arrived shortly after our school year started. I have new paint for my students to express their artistic abilities, glue to help them stick stories in order, and scissors to make the stories their own.

My students (all 27) were so happy to have new materials that were "there very own" never used by anyone else before. It was like Christmas Day!! I never would have thought that glue and scissors, play dough and a little paint was THIS exciting, but here I am so giddy about how giddy my students are. They are taking so much pride in their materials that I am one VERY proud Kindergarten teacher.

We are about to pull out the playdough to help us learn how to spell our names and learn our numbers. What better way to get more work out of play than to make learning fun and colorful. We will also be working on some fine motor skills when we start rolling out the playdough to spell our name and make those numbers! (Sneaky teacher using play as learning!!)

We have so much to be grateful for and I am so excited to have materials on hand at a moments notice that I can pull out and use on the fly. It makes such a difference to my students and me.”

  • Math and Me

    Funded Apr 26, 2021

I wanted to let you know that my students are using the folder games and interacting with each other and having fun.

Communication is a big deal in my classroom as I am a integrated 100% Special Education and General Education classroom. Math is a universal language and most everyone can "talk the talk" when it comes to math, but when you put the math in the form of a game, EVERYONE "talks the talk" and learns.

I had several students who were very shy and did not talk a lot. When I got the math folder games and paired up students, chatter was all around my room. Lots of laughs, lots of fun, LOTS and LOTS of learning.

I had students who I was not sure really got some addition facts. I had a student come up to me and say "Ms. Kennedy, did you know that 5+1=6." For that student, that was a BIG DEAL... so we celebrated that accomplishment. I could not have made this impact on not just the one student or this last class without the help of Math and Me Folder games. These folder games will help many many kindergarten students "talk the talk" when it comes to Math and Me.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kennedy

  • Science in My Hands!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

My students are having a blast using the Can Do Science kits and the Interactive Morning CD to help them understand exactly what we are talking about in our lessons.

The Can Do Science kits are JUST RIGHT for their little hands and gives them hours of fun learning time. Their favorite Can Do Science kit is the Sound and Magnets kits. They enjoy making the sounds and trying to get the magnets to push or pull objects. These two kits are still in our center rotation because the students enjoy them soo much.

The Interactive Morning CD is allowing my Special Education Students the opportunity to "see" what the weather is and how we need to dress for the weather. We are also learning about letter sounds, rhymes, colors and shapes. They are not discouraged when they get the answer wrong because the game gives them encouragement to continue on and celebrates when the finally get it right!!

From the bottom of my heart and my students hands, we truly appreciate all you have done to help us keep "Science in our Hands!"”

  • To the Moon and Back

    Funded May 13, 2020

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the generous gift you have bestowed upon my classroom. With the tablets you gifted, my students have been able to work online independently in various subjects. The most favorite "game" is the 10 frame. The students can work at their own pace and it allows them the opportunity to identify and count numbers up to 10 (to start) and advance as they are able.

For some of my students, it is simply a tool for them to learn and keep fine motor skills. I am able to pull up a drawing application that they can use their finger to trace letters or free draw (like an etch a sketch type thing). The joy that the student have from making their own art is great. Still other students have found the camera function and have become the classroom photographer. The students love to pose for the camera during class and free time.

My students are varied in their abilities by more than one way. I have a wonderful group of kiddos who are doing their very best to overcome many educational gaps (even in Kindergarten). Thank you taking time to help me help them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kennedy

As we all know, kids are wiggly. This is especially so in Kindergarten. I know that the flex-Space Wobble cushion will come in handy when we are at the carpet doing whole group work or at our desks. This will allow some of my wiggly kids to get their wiggles out without causing much fuss. Plus it is textured so it has an added benefit for wiggling! You cannot have just one Wobble Chair in your class, you have to have enough for a couple at each table so each student can have a turn on the Wobble chairs! Wobble chairs are just another way to keep busy, wiggly kids engaged in learning!
