The materials provide concrete objects to help the students gain an understanding of the concept being taught. The math puzzles will help the students become aware that numbers are a pattern. The magnetic letter building activities will make students aware that print conveys a message. The letter activities will help the students understand that letters and sounds make words, which then will lead to print awareness.
