Since the pandemic began, students have largely missed out on social experiences that allow them to express themselves. Theatre is a great tool for building confidence, bringing students together, and giving them the tools to learn more about themselves. Additionally, Shakespeare allows them to explore language in a way they never have before. The materials we are requesting would allow us to create a stage experience that matches the dedication these kids have to the program. If you think that getting 12-15 year old kids interested in Shakespeare is hard, then you'd be mistaken. These children are intrigued by the language, enthralled by performing his works, and so excited to spend time with each other and make friends. They rehearse multiple times a week, and spent the full first half of the year doing an academic study. They deserve the equipment to make their performance truly special.
