It is a proven fact that students who are involved in moderate daily physical activity perform at a higher level, are more confident, and have greater social skills than those who don't. All of the materials I have requested will be incorporated into a workout circuit. The power tubes and wheel rollers will be used at a station that will help the students develop a stronger core. The yoga mats will be used in a station where the students will be doing push ups and sit ups. The flex bands will be utilized in a variety of low resistance exercises to help with upper body strength. This project will allow me to deliver engaging, quality physical education every day regardless of weather conditions. These materials will allow me to provide opportunities for my students to improve not only their physical condition, but also their self-esteem. When students' self-esteem improves, their engagement in classroom activity improves. Engaged students are excited students. Imagine how cool a classroom full of energized, excited, and engaged fifth grade students would look and feel like.
