  • Great Character Books

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

I'm truly grateful that this project was funded. I can't thank every one of you enough for thinking of my students and their love for reading! The books that you are providing will make such a difference in our character unit. I can't wait to share these materials with my class!”

  • Nonfiction Refresh!

    Funded Mar 17, 2021

My class has been tremendously blessed with multiple projects funded this year. The majority of my projects have been focused on updating the fiction classroom library. When filling the shelves with another funded project, I realized that I needed to update my nonfiction library. My students' reactions to all the new nonfiction reading material were priceless. They were very excited to have more relevant nonfiction books to enjoy and learn from.

Most of the books received are used during independent reading. Students can choose books of their own interest to read. With this project, I have provided newer nonfiction books of various levels to all my students. I love reading with students and hearing all the wonderful knowledge they have learned from then new nonfiction books.

I appreciate being able to share the love of books with my class and future classes!”

  • Finish the Book Series

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Earlier this year, I funded a project that added new titles to our classroom library. Once that project was funded, I realized how many book series still needed to be completed. I took note of the book series that became popular and added them to a new project. I let my students know about the new project and they were pumped! My students' reactions to all the new reading material were priceless. They are still excited to choose books for independent reading time.

Most of the books received are used during independent reading. Students can choose books of their own interest to read. With this project, I have provided more relevant books of various levels to all my students. Many students have been exposed to new series and can continue reading their favorite series because of this generous donation. I love reading with students and hearing their conversations about books.

I appreciate being able to share the love of books with my class and future classes!”

  • Simplified Technology

    Funded Oct 20, 2020

The use of technology in school has increased ten-fold in the past year. For a few weeks this year, technology was our only way to share lessons with our students. Our students have been very blessed to have 1:1 devices, however, many students did not own a decent pair of headphones or a wireless mouse. I found that these two items have become extremely helpful in our day-to-day interactions with technology.

The wireless mouse was the most exciting product the students were able to use. Students can manipulate their devices with ease when using a wireless mouse. Many students had difficulty using the touchpad on their Chromebooks and often became frustrated when things wouldn't work. A wireless mouse solved most of these problems. Not only did a mouse help with technology, but also responsibility. Students had to keep track of their mouse, and chip. I'm happy to say most students rose to this challenge and I will encourage the use of a wireless mouse with classes in the future.

Not all students came with headphones that would last long with daily use. Within the first month of school, many students didn't have headphones or they were broken. I took this opportunity to ask for a class set of noise-canceling headphones. Students loved their headphones and were glad to have them to use for their i-Ready Lessons. Many students wear them just to block out some noise during independent work times.

My entire class has benefitted from the technology I was able to get with this project. We are extremely grateful for all the donations we received to fund the project.”

  • Eye Catching Books

    Funded Sep 20, 2020

Reading has always been one of my favorite subjects to teach, mostly because I am an avid reader myself. My students' reactions to all the new reading material were beyond words. They are still excited to choose books for independent reading time.

  • Interactive Games

    Funded Dec 12, 2018

Thank you so much for all your generosity. Not only does this gift benefit my current class, but classes to come as well. This gift gives my class more opportunities to participate in engaging activities when we have inclement weather. I'm sure the students will agree that your donations will have a great impact in our class.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Minster

Our inclusive class is in desperate need of some new and updated interactive board games and activities. This is especially an issue when it comes to indoor recess. We often have indoor recess in the winter because it is too cold to enjoy the outdoors. My students have pleaded for me to get some new games and interactive activities can be can used for indoor recess. I'm hoping that this will be a chance to get my inclusive class to learn how to cooperate with each other while playing games. This is also a great opportunity for the entire class to build social skills as well as enjoying indoor recess activities.
