Best Buddies Building Friendships Through Games
Funded Mar 26, 2025We are incredibly grateful for your generous support of our special education project! Thanks to your donation, our students now have access to engaging games that encourage social interaction, teamwork, and friendship-building.
These games will create opportunities for our students to connect with their peers, develop important social skills, and build lasting friendships in a fun and meaningful way. Your generosity is making a real difference in their lives, and we can’t thank you enough for believing in our mission.”

A Christmas Present
Funded Dec 12, 2019My students were over joyed with their presents. The presents arrived in our front office and I carried them back to our classroom. I expressed how donors financially contributed to each of them receiving a Christmas present this year. They were so excited to know someone cares for them and was willing to spend their money on the.
My students became so excited they did not want to wait for me to wrap the presents. The students insisted on receiving the presents immediately. So, I allowed them to open the presents right away. My girls loved the gel pens and coloring books. They are always asking me to print them out some type of coloring page. I love they have the coloring books and pens because this also assists them when they are feeling upset or sad, they will often retreat to coloring.
My boys were also really grateful. They consistently bought their basketballs to school to play outside on the blacktop. Although, it is February they are still bringing their balls and always looking for free time to go to the gym or blacktop to play. I am elated my students were picked to receive presents this year. I am forever grateful and so are my students. Words cannot express the amount of gratitude we all have.”

Diverse Library
Funded Oct 23, 2019OMG!!! I am so excited to be able to provide my students with a diverse library. Unfortunately, our library does not have a lot of diverse books. Fortunately, we are able to have diverse books in our library.
I also am able to provide books to the campus. We are celebrating Black History Month and the students have been give projects in regards to African American books. The students were able to look into the books and learn about African American inventors and see African American authors.
Not only has my class benefited from the diverse library but so has the campus. We are able to expose students to diverse books and authors. The students are able to see characters on the front of the book cover that look like them. We are eternally grateful.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School.Quiet Time Activities
Funded Oct 9, 2019The students are using the resources when they come back from lunch and recess. Responsive classroom practices state that students should be given some time to sit quietly and reflect some time throughout the day. This helps students to calm their bodies and reflect how they would like to end the day. My students enjoy quiet time and the opportunity to reflect by doing so with quiet games.
When I informed the students we had quiet time games and showed the games to them, initially the quiet time was not so quiet. My students were excited to receive the activities and all wanted to play together. I will say although students should have been quiet it helped provide a better sense of community. My students began to team build and work together in groups and teams to solve some of the puzzles and games.
We work on a new social emotional learning skill (SEL) each week. My students have found the quiet time activities to be helpful with their SEL skills. Often times when students need a break they will reach for the quiet time activities and go sit in the library or a cubby.
We are grateful we have the quiet times resources and this has provided a more peaceful and calm environment within my classroom.”
