Stimulate Your Mind During Gym Class!
Funded Sep 28, 2021This year students have had to deal with a lot with Covid, quarantining, and getting injured. With having 550 students in the school you can assume that at least some point during the year we have students who get injured during class or outside of school. Most of the time they would just sit on the outside and watch the other students playing. Once the Legos arrived and I brought them out, they were so excited. They said that this helped them out from not being so down with missing gym class. The Lego sets come with cards to help students build certain items and some students just start getting and idea in their head and just start building. Some students have been very creative.
Going forward I hope having the Legos will continue to help students to become creative and I am hoping that this will also cut back on some behavior issues that come up with students sitting out of gym.
Thank you again for helping out with this project. The students who have created with the Legos have been very thankful.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 3 other donors.Getting Outdoors
Funded Aug 13, 2021With the portable speaker we are able to take this outdoors and be able to talk to all the students without yelling out at the top of our lungs. This allows the students to hear all the directions and not have to come up to us and keep asking what we are doing.
The students are loving the idea that they are getting to listen to music while they are playing their different activities in class. Having the microphone connected to the speaker allows us to be loud. This allows our students to fully hear us and know what their expectations are
Our Special Ed students have really enjoyed listening to music during the gym time. Instead of playing some of the students are standing near the speaker and dancing. They have just having a great time.”

Get Moving!
Funded Apr 22, 2021When the school year first started off we had to make sure the students were socially distanced and this made it hard for students to hear the little TV that we found within the school. Having the sound system it allowed the students from all over the gym to easily hear the activity we were doing.
Since the new sound system arrived we have been watching Just Dance videos and learning all sorts of new dance moves. The younger students have really enjoyed watching videos from GONoodle.com and dancing with those characters. The older students have really enjoyed watching "This and That" workout videos. It has really motivated students to get moving during our gym class.
Our Special Ed students have really enjoyed watching dance performances from around the world. These students get really excited to see how the performers dress and they like to pick out what similarities and differences they see in the different genres of dance. Once again I would like to thank everyone for their generous donation.”
