Cooking in the Cafe!
Funded Apr 7, 2022We received our resources during Asian American Pacific Islander month. The kids could not wait to use their new cooking supplies to make Asian American Pacific Islander inspired dishes such as Mango Icebox Cake and Mango Pizza. The cooking supplies have made the students so happy and they are really becoming great chefs in the kitchen!
Next school year we are hoping to use the supplies to help us make meals for the entire school. This will allow the students to become more independent in their own cooking skills, but also practice taking orders from their peers as well as work on their money skills.
We all can't wait to see what else we can do now that we have more resources so THANK YOU!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pullano

Funded Nov 17, 2018I first want to say Thank You! The joy you have brought to my students is truly heart warming and to see them smile each day while using their Ipads is amazing. They have only been using the Ipads for a few weeks and the magnificent things they have done with them is breathtaking.
Some of the students have been using the Ipads to take inventory of the snacks being sold around the school. The students feel proud holding the Ipads and when asked what they are doing, they proudly state, "Taking inventory." These same students are my most shy students who very rarely like to say anything. Now, they speak with pride and confidence.
I have another student who is limited in his verbal communication. However, he has been using the iPads to take pictures of the tasks around the room as well as his peers working. He LOVES the job of taking pictures and the pictures actually help him. For example, when he wants to explain to us something he wants to do, he only needs to show us the picture he took!
All of the students are really benefiting from the Ipads whether its using them to calculate change, write their grocery lists, look up recipes, or even just for a well deserved break. I can't wait to see what else we will use them for within the class!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pullano
