  • Listening Ears

    Funded Aug 28, 2019

My project was fully funded thanks to your generosity! My students will be so excited to hear that they are all getting some spankin' new comfy headphones to use at school! I can't wait to see the look on their faces! Thank you so much! Your kindness is greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Denton

  • Diving into Technology

    Funded Dec 8, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. Having our project funded helped my students by giving them another iPad to use during our centers time and for the technological/digital components of our district required curriculum. They also serve as a positive reinforcer for my students when they complete their work and make good choices. My students enjoy practicing their skills in the form of games.

Having our project funded also taught my students a lesson about kindness and generosity. When we received our package and opened it together as a class, my students were absolutely delighted and surprised. When I told them that some very nice people donated money to our class so we could get a new iPad, one of my students said, "That is so nice. Those people have never even met us and they were so kind to us!"

I always tell my students that kindness makes the world go round, so thank you for showing them that there are some very kind people in the world.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Denton

This classroom project was brought to life by Perry and Donna Golkin Family Foundation and one other donor.
With limited access to technology in our district, by having another iPad in my classroom, each student will be able to have their own iPad instead of having to share with their neighbor. With all of the different needs of my students, I will be able to have each student work at their level in order to meet their individualized goals. As our curriculum is becoming more advanced and requiring technology to complete tasks, iPads will give them the exposure to technology that they need to be successful. The 3rd graders will have to use technology to complete the state mandated test. The iPads will help my students to improve their typing skills. It could serve as an accommodation for those students that have difficulty with pencil to paper writing.
