'Tis the Season to Get Reading

I can't tell you how much the kids appreciate the new additions to our classroom library. It's really hard to find topics that interest kids and it is even harder to sustain their attention. I had a lot of students asking me for some new books - Dork Diaries is always a favorite for the girls and Middle School; The Worst Years of My Life (1st in the series) was a huge hit among the kids last year. Getting student excited about reading is something that I am passionate about and I know Mott Hall II is as well. I am looking forward to continuing to expand the selection, especially for those scholars who are struggling to understand the joy that can be found in a book. Please be on the lookout! Students in my classroom are reading at all levels. The majority of books in the classroom library are above their reading range. This makes reading challenging for them. I am hoping to incorporate some high interest books in my library that will allow struggling readers to more readily engage with their books.
