Inline skates (roller blades) would provide many new learning opportunities for Bay View students. We believe that middle school students should be introduced to a variety opportunities to be active not only during school hours but experiences that can be done outside of school as well. This is will not only improve students physical fitness, but their social- emotional health too. This is accomplished by getting students outside with friends or family during the fall, spring and summer seasons. Another benefit of including inline skating in to our physical education curriculum would allow us to teach students the importance of road safety, the skills of inline skating, and locations in the community that are inline skating friendly. To further promote physical activity in the community, we will allow students and their families to check out the inline skates on the weekend. Inline skating is a great physical activity that can improve individual's quality of life and providing this learning opportunity for our students will allow our students to be one step closer to the goal of maintaining a healthful lifestyle!
