  • Remarkable Digital Teacher

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

Integrating Sphero Indi robots into my classroom has significantly enhanced my students' learning experience in coding. These robots are engaging and versatile, allowing students to explore various programming concepts through hands-on activities. The excitement stems from the immediate feedback they receive when they program the robots to perform different tasks. This instant gratification not only keeps students motivated but also reinforces their understanding of coding principles as they adjust and refine their commands based on the robots' performance.

Moreover, the Sphero Indi robots foster collaboration and critical thinking among students. Working in teams, they tackle challenges that require problem-solving and creativity to achieve desired outcomes. This collaborative environment encourages communication and teamwork, essential skills in today's technology-driven world. Overall, the introduction of Sphero Indi robots has transformed coding lessons into dynamic, interactive experiences that captivate students' interest and inspire a deeper understanding of programming.”

  • Building and Thinking with Blocks

    Funded Dec 17, 2018

As you can see from the photos, my students are totally engaged while using these sets!

My little architects are working together to construct different models. These sets encourage them to collaborate with each other as they build. They are also using their own critical thinking skills to compose and decompose structures! The building sets also allow them to truly analyze their own thought processes as they ask themselves questions such as: "How can I make this work?" Or "Will this work?"

Thank you for helping me bring many important and necessary materials to my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Salters

The Blocks and Blueprints Learning Center is an excellent way for my younger students to work through the Engineering Design Process. With this educational toy, the students will be able to use wooden blocks to plan, create, and edit designs, using a Blueprint as a guide. This will also allow them to practice using their spatial reasoning skills. Students will be challenging themselves and having fun! These materials will encourage my students to apply the engineering process. They will become real life engineers and use their ideas to broaden their experiences. They can also work collaboratively and share their ideas with their peers!
