Adequate, individualized storage allows students to take charge of their learning and to work independently. My first graders are learning to become self-sufficient learners and need adequate storage for their most-used items. Our class functions in the smallest classroom in our school's building. We love our tiny, cozy home, but storage is often a big challenge! My students have their own independent readers, textbooks and working journals that we use every day. The products I have selected will allow these educational items to be readily accessible for ease in daily transitions and completion of each assignment. Students will be empowered to gather items that will make them successful and can drive their own learning through independence. The chair pockets and book trays will allow for easy storage and student efficiency. During monthly math and ELAR testing, my students are currently required to relocate to various parts of the classroom (away from their daily working space) to avoid wandering eyes. I do not have appropriate dividers to portion off each student's working area. The privacy screens will allow independent work and effective testing. These screens are critical for accurate assessment and testing.
