Resources for small group literacy and phonics instruction will help fill learning gaps, and improve the reading skills of students who are struggling to read on grade level. These resources, including blank puzzle boards, magnetic letter kits, sound box mats, pop bubble sensory pieces, and phonics games will provide students with an engaging way to practice and increase their reading skills. These resources will help with phonemic awareness, breaking up syllables, and working on writing. Students will also use them to learn and practice decoding multisyllabic words, and increasing automaticity with sight words. Quality headphones will be used in my classroom for students to participate in and use a variety of online learning programs. Students will use them for flip grid to verbally explain their thinking or understanding of a concept. They will make recordings of themselves reading, listen back to it, and set goals to improve their fluency. They will also use headphones for online reading and learning programs, which model fluent reading and help students practice reading and math skills in the areas they need. A webcam will give me the ability to communicate through zoom with parents and tutor students in quarantine. An HDMI adapter will let me project a Chromebook screen onto the whiteboard, to easily model for students as they complete digital assignments and activities. This is beneficial for students to see a screen displayed that looks exactly like their own screen.
