  • Hotel Rooms for Regional Wrestling Tournament

    Without your assistance we would not have been able to attend our regional wrestling tournament. The regional tournament was 5 plus hours from our school. It was 100% necessary for our team to stay in a hotel for the tournament because it was a two day event. It was a great experience for the athletes and coaches. We are very grateful for the time and opportunity to stay in a hotel for the regional tournament. We had 6 rooms between the 18 people athletes and coaches that attend the tournament. We were truly blessed to have support from donors from Donor's Choose. Thank you so much!

    The wrestling season was a time of personal growth and new found achievement. Growing and continuing my passion would have not been possible without the basic fundamentals. The wrestling shoes were a essential requirement that helped me focus on wrestling. The gift of the wrestling shoes was a generous one, many of my teammates did not have wrestling shoes. This lack of a essential requirement caused them to perform at a lower level due to fear of injury and them not having stable grip. After receiving the wrestling shoes we were able to advance our skills by performing at a higher level. The shoes helped us gain the same advantage as other wrestlers with newer shoes and equipment, we were finally able to fit in by having new gear instead of our old shoes/ no shoes. Along with all the other benefits, the best things the shoes brought to us was the gift of more practice time. Before receiving the shoes we would often argue over who would wear what shoe out of the limited stock that we owned. The shoes overall helped the Aurora central wrestling team and made a huge impact on us.”

Many of our athletes don't have the necessary shoes to compete in a junior varsity or varsity setting for wrestling matches. Daily I coach practice without my own shoes because I have to loan my shoes out to kids because the athletes do not have shoes. Our plan is to lend the shoes out for the athletes to use during the season to help give our students an opportunity to compete. The goal is to remove the added stress of not having to find their own shoes without the common support many students athletes usually have. These shoes will not arrive for this season, but our plan is to be more proactive aiding our students going forward.

About my class
