These materials will continue to enhance the social emotional learning environment that I strive to create. Play therapy helps children to develop a more positive self-concept, assume greater responsibility, become more independent, resilient, and self accepting, and experience self-determination in a safe and nurturing environment. As a play therapist, I believe that play is a child's universal language. With these materials, students will be able to 'show me their world' using the sand tray and miniatures, or work through traumatic experiences using the dolls and other play materials. I have seen how creative play paired with therapy can foster growth by providing children with a corrective emotional experience. With these materials, I hope that my students have more opportunities to grow, process, and heal!
