Being immersed in a new language is cognitively exhausting. Tack on learning in an environment where the majority of children are afflicted by trauma and not equipped with the skills to deal appropriately. Then tack on the pressures of middle school in general and it’s a wonder my emerging multilinguals are still awake by 8th period! Yoga mats will help my students to create a lunch yoga practice to give them the brain break and solace not typically found in a middle school building. Your donation will help us to cultivate such a space and build community amongst one another.
